As with every engineering challenge, building and racing a solar car comes with a multitude of trade-offs. It is my responsibility as strategist to balance these trade-offs and advise the team on which innovations will make our solar car once again a winning solar car. Through these innovations, we push the boundaries of renewable energy technology to the next level while inspiring others to follow in our steps.
During the race, I make sure that we exploit the capabilities of both our car and team to the fullest by determining the optimal strategy. How fast should we drive up a hill? How do we react to clouds and wind? When do we change drivers? These are some of the challenges that I tackle by combining car data, weather predictions, the route profile and much more.
